Bob Costas is saying goodbye to his NBC home after 40 years of working for the network.
“It’s all settled quietly and happily for all concerned,” Costas told the NY Post.
Back in August, it was rumored that the long-time sportscaster was parting ways with NBC before his contract expired in 2021. A settlement between both parties has been reached, according to Bleacher Report.
Costas will remain in the world of sports as he continues to work with the MLB Network and could have a role in the Baseball Hall of Fame covering the inductee announcements.
“I have some possibilities, but I have to decide what I want to do,” Costas told the Post. “If I do anything else, it will be a hybrid of my HBO show and Later.”
The newsman has covered many massive sporting events like the Olympics, the Super Bowl and the World Series.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum awarded him with the 2018 Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting.
