Former Vice President Joe Biden and pop star Lady Gaga released a new “It’s On Us” PSA on Thursday to speak out in support of sexual assault survivors and in condemnation of perpetrators.

“I am a sexual assault survivor,” Gaga tells viewers. “I know the effects, the aftermath, the trauma ― psychological, physical, mental. It can be terrifying waking up every day feeling unsafe in your own body.”

Biden, who is seated next to the singer in the video, says she’s “shown enormous courage.”

“And we want to make it real clear,” he says. “It’s on us, it’s on everyone to intervene — to stop abuse when they see it and when they hear about it, to intervene. No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman for any reason other than self-defense. Ever. Period.”

The PSA comes on the heels of a trove of sexual harassment and assault allegations waged against men in positions of power, beginning with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Men accused include director James Toback, Amazon Studios chief Roy Price, Nickelodeon producer Chris Savino, Vox Media editorial director Lockhart Steele and celebrity chef John Besh, among others.
