Jaime Lee Curtis is returning to the iconic role that made her famous: innocent babysitter Laurie Strode. She will star in a new Halloween movie that will come out of the fortieth anniversary of the original film’s release.

The movie is co-written by Danny McBride, reports Esquire. McBride said that the new Halloween films, directed by David Gordon Green, will be returning to the franchise’s “roots,” writes Esquire. McBride said that he feels Michael Myers almost became like Frankenstein’s monster and was superhuman, which doesn’t make him scary anymore.
“For us, we look at it, and it’s much scarier to just have that man who is hiding in the shadows as you’re taking the trash out to the backyard, as opposed to a guy who could be shot a bunch of times and still keeps coming back to life,” McBride said to Business Insider and reported by Esquire.
John Carpenter, who co-wrote, directed and scored the original films, is “down to compose the score for this one too,” Esquire writes.
The original Halloween was directed by Carpenter. It came from his own script about Myers as he stalks and kills teenage babysitters on Halloween night.
