The future is now for Cara Delevingne.
The model turned actress will be appearing on the cover of British GQ‘s September issue in a particularly interesting getup—a shiny silver robot-like outfit appropriate for what may be her breakthrough movie role. (It plays on the fact that Delevingne will soon be starring in the Luc Besson sci-fi film, Valerian.)
Here’s what we know so far from the bits and pieces we’ve gleaned: The issue will hit newsstands on July 6 (i.e. next Thursday), and Delevingne’s photo shoot was inspired by Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama and ’60s sci-fi sex symbol Barbarella.
To keep with the sci-fi theme, her British GQ interviewer was administered an electric shock every time Delevingne didn’t like the question.
We also learn the model’s reading “Diary of a 13-Year-Old Heroin Addict,” which we couldn’t find anywhere on Amazon under that name but appears to be this.
It’s a good get for the British magazine as the former fashion model has become the next “It” girl in Hollywood at just 24 years of age. She starred in the film adaptation of the popular young adult novel, Paper Towns, in 2015 and in the supervillain team-up flick, Suicide Squad, last year.
British GQ’s creative director also posted this trippy teaser video to Instagram. Take a look below.
