The host and frequent critic of President Trump gets political... again.

On Wednesday, James Comey surprised everyone by releasing the statement he plans to read today at the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.

No one was happier about the material, it seemed, than Stephen Colbert.

The host of The Late Show, read aloud from a copy of Comey’s detailed diary entries, sometimes also playing the role of President Donald Trump.

Colbert snickered like a school boy imagining how President Trump informed Comey that he “had not been involved with hookers in Russia.” Colbert then joked, “Comey replied, I understand Mr. President, but I just asked what you had for breakfast.”

Colbert also reads aloud a passage about a unexpected private dinner between Comey and Trump. Colbert responded, “Oh, c’mon, that’s the oldest trick in the book. You invite your FBI director over for a movie, saying it’s going to be a ‘group thing.’ When he shows up, it’s just the two of you. Can’t make Netflix word so, you know… so you obstruct justice.”
