President Donald Trump is still not over the anthem protests taking place weekly before NFL games, as shown through his newest comments, when he called the NFL “weak and out of control,” and claimed Americans are fed up with the protests, according to Sports Illustrated

NFL players have been protesting the national anthem by taking a knee or staying in the locker room since the beginning of the season. It started with Colin Kaepernick last year, who was protesting police brutality against African Americans and other racial injustices. This year, players may be continuing that battle, or they may just be protesting Trump, who called the players, “sons of bitches,” which led to a league-wide protest during Week 3, according to Sports Illustrated.

On top of that, Trump called for any player or sat or kneeled during the national anthem to be fired. The league-wide protest included almost 200 players who refused to participate in the anthem.

Last week, Trump tweeted three different times complaining about the NFL, as well as Commissioner Roger Goodell and Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch. The president said that the players run the league and again said players who kneel for the anthem are showing disrespect.
