The Philadelphia Flyers introduced Gritty, their new mascot, to the world Monday afternoon.

The world, on the whole, was not impressed.

Lacking a nose, Gritty is “the ultimate Flyers fan who loves the orange and black, but is unwelcoming to anyone who opposes his team.”

Due to his odd looks, a number of social media users were unwelcoming to Gritty.

The hate went so far that someone even created a GoFundMe campaign to euthanize Gritty. As of now, it has raised nearly $300 of its $1,000 goal.

“With your help and generosity, we can stop this creature, with the eyes of a coked out Oscar Grouch, red hair like Satan himself, the body movement of a Kensington crack-head, and the overall aura of a fever dream demon, from reaching any more eyes and memories,” according to the campaign. “Think of the children, do you really want something with a face even it’s mother doesn’t love roaming around walking free? I hope the answer is no.”

But, undaunted by the insults, Gritty was able to strap up his skates and make it over to Good Morning America for an appearance on Tuesday morning.

Cheers to you Gritty, you terrifying hell beast.
