Rihanna stands behind Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel while he was still playing quarterback in the NFL.

That’s why she turned down an offer to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LIII, a source told Us Weekly.

She “supports Colin Kaepernick,” the source said. “The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta. They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

Following Rihanna turning down halftime offer, the NFL awarded the gig to Maroon 5 and Adam Levine.

While it appears Rihanna won’t be involved, Cardi B may be a special guest during the show at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in early February.
