Whether it’s true or not, Julian Edelman, Tom Brady, and the rest of the Patriots appear to be buying into the notion that no one outside of New England believes the Patriots can beat the Chiefs in Kansas City on Sunday.

Edelman, for his part, is trying to cash in on it.

The veteran wide receiver, who sold “Beat LA” shirts before last week’s win against the Chargers, is selling T-shirts with the phrase “Bet Against Us” on his website.

While it may help Edelman and his teammates get fired up for the game, the notion that no one thinks they can win the game on Sunday is a bit silly.

The Patriots have played in two consecutive Super Bowls and Sunday will mark the eighth consecutive time New England has played in the AFC Championship game. (They’ve gone 5-2.)

And, while bookmakers have installed the Patriots as 3-point underdogs, there are more betting tickets and more money on the Patriots to win than on the Chiefs, according to The Action Network’s data.
