Standing seven feet tall, Brook Lopez does not look like your typical NBA sharpshooter.

And, earlier in his career he certainly wasn’t.

In Lopez’s first eight seasons in the NBA, he attempted 31 3-pointers and made just three of them. This year he’s on pace to shoot more than 500 and has already made more than 100.

Now in his 11th season in The Association overall and his first with the Milwaukee Bucks, Lopez is shooting 37.9 percent on 3-pointers and takes 6.6 per game. Making an average of 2.5 each time out, he’s tied for 14th in the league.

“It’s been continuing to get more comfortable shooting it,” Lopez said. “It’s my third season doing it, and it’s now becoming the norm, just getting used to it more and more. I did have coaches who believed I would be shooting a lot of threes later in (my) career, and (they) told me, ‘You’re capable of it.’ It just took some time, you know?”

Last season with the Lakers Lopez hit 112 treys and the year before that he canned 134 of ’em as a member of the Nets.
