A video obtained by TMZ which was shot in February in a Cleveland hotel appears to show Kansas City Chiefs star Kareem Hunt assaulting a woman multiple times.

In the video, the second-year player appears to strike, kick, and slam into a 19-year-old woman in a hotel hallway despite being restrained by multiple people.

Though the incident was reported in February and the police were called, Hunt was not arrested and no charges were filed because authorities could not determine if a crime had taken place.

Interesting because, according to TMZ, the surveillance video from the hotel was obtained by law enforcement and was part of the evidence that was submitted to prosecutors.

Both sides told different stories to investigators at the time of the incident and it’s not entirely clear what exactly prompted the physical altercation.

The Chiefs and the NFL were aware of the incident after it occurred, but no disciplinary actions were ever taken against Hunt and he was not suspended.

Now, with this video making its way into public view, it’s possible the league and Roger Goodell will be compelled to sanction Hunt or at least investigate the matter.

“[It’s} unclear why the NFL has not taken any action against Hunt,” according to TMZ. “We reached out to the league to find out if they pursued the video. We also reached out to cops to find out if the NFL contacted them about the footage as well. We reached out to the NFL for comment – so far, no word back.”

UPDATE: The Chiefs have cut Hunt and his future in the NFL remains uncertain.
