In order to attack the lingering rating issues the show has had since it hit the airwaves, ESPN will have a different NFL analyst and college football analyst visit Get Up each day of the week.
The show, which is paying nearly $15 million overall in salary money to hosts Mike Greenberg, Michelle Beadle and Jalen Rose, will be adding the guests to help drum up viewership for the show during football season, a change that was rumored to be on the way three months ago.
The college football analysts are Dan Orlovsky (Monday), Jesse Palmer (Tuesday), Paul Finebaum (Wednesday), Marcus Spears (Thursday), and Jonathan Vilma (Friday). On the NFL side, the show will have Rex Ryan and Victor Cruz (both on Monday), Ryan Clark (Tuesday), Damien Woody (Wednesday), Adam Schefter (Thursday), and Louis Riddick (Friday).

Some of those names are more notable than others and many of those personalities, including Finebaum, Schefter, and Ryan, appear on other types of widely available ESPN programming, so it’s a fair second guess to wonder if the addition of these experts will actually help ratings any.
As of Monday, the not-so-popular morning show had reached 300,000 viewers just 14 times in 98 episodes.
“We’re committed to ‘Get Up’ and are proud of the effort the team is delivering each day,” an ESPN spokesperson told The New York Post.
