Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller returned to the team facility for the first time since his gruesome knee injury he suffered eight weeks ago. Miller dislocated his knee, but also seriously damaged an artery. Watching the video of his leg bend the wrong way is hard enough, but listening to him talk about it is horrifying. Miller told ESPN that the threat of amputation was “very real” because he was a couple “wrong turns away” from that actually happening. Luckily, thanks to the immense amount of care he had, they were able to save “pretty much everything. Miller also said that when they were going into emergency surgery, the last thing he was telling the doctors was “Please save my leg!” because he knew that something wasn’t right. The surgery was successful and he is now on crutches with his leg in a brace. However, it is unclear if he will ever play football again.
