A Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane testing new equipment took off for an 18-hour endurance flight on Wednesday, leaving from Seattle and flying across the U.S.

Test flights are a pretty common occurrence, but this flight took an unusual turn. Well, several actually. Instead of flying in a random pattern, the test flight planners got creative and flew a route that ultimately outlined a 787-8 in the skies above 22 states, a Boeing spokesman told Business Insider.

The nose points toward Boeing’s home in Washington, while the wings cover the stretch from northern Michigan to southern Texas. The tail reaches all the way to Alabama.

Social media noticed, and several people had fun thinking of reasons for the flight pattern.

Before this, the team got creative in February to spell out “MAX” across Washington and Montana during 737 MAX’s eight-hour test flight.
