RealClearLife – founded on April 22, 2016 – begins its second year this week, with a readership of over 2 million from our first year alone.

A new and improved redesign, including more original content, is on the way next week.

RCL is a part of the RealClearPolitics media group, which itself has one of the largest, best educated and most affluent audience base anywhere.

Our goal is to give our readers the best curated and original content there is, with the best visuals and videos, in every subject that makes life interesting and worthwhile.

We cross all intellectual boundaries – science, art, adventure, entertainment—from high culture to the low. We assume our readers are already smart and successful, and keep them posted up to the second on breaking news and ideas, as told from the most “in the know” and authoritative sources.

When your required work reading is done, RCLife aims to provide the go-to place each day for everything else good. We are the icing on the cake; the recess to the school day; the elective subjects at college to go along with the mandatory curriculum.

Think of the great men’s magazines of print journalism’s golden age, like Esquire in the 1950s or 1970s, brought to the age of social media. From the space probe piercing the rings of Saturn to the most beautiful woman in the world, we serve as “your guide to a life well led,” and “your most interesting friend.”

Here are some of our favorite stories from the last year for your (re-)reading pleasure:
