Taylor Swift left empty-handed, but these musicians won on stage.

Despite her six nominations — more than any artist on last night’s bill — Taylor Swift left the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards empty-handed.

Instead, the award headliner of the night was Canadian-born pop singer Shawn Mendez, who took home four awards from the ceremony at London’s Wembley Arena, including Best Artist, Best Canadian Act, Biggest Fans and Best Song for his 2016 hit, “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back.” Take a look at some other highlights from the night below.
