Quentin Tarantino is plotting murder.

The Django Unchained director is set to write and direct a movie about the Manson Family murders, and has already approached Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt about major roles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tarantino is finishing the script, which would chronicle the infamous 1969 murder of actress Sharon Tate, the wife of Rosemary’s Baby director Roman Polanski, by Charles Manson and his cult.

The true crime story has all the makings of a high-intensity drama: Manson had ordered four disciples to attack Polanski’s Los Angeles mansion, mistaking it as the home of a record producer that had spurned him. They followed his orders to a grisly conclusion—shooting and stabbing Tate, who was eight months pregnant at the time, and four others.

Longtime Tarantino producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein will once again be his partners in crime, sources told the trade publication.

Lawrence is reportedly not being considered to play Tate.
