A show about a team of Nazi hunters operating in New York City in the ‘70s that will be executive produced by writer-director Jordan Peele has gotten the green light from Amazon.
Set in 1977, The Hunt details the quest of a group called The Hunters to bring hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials who are living in the United States to justice.
Created by David Weil (Moonfall), the project was shopped around to a number of interested studios before Amazon swooped in and bought the 10-episode first season of the series.
“When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” Peele said. “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”
Billed as “edge-of-your-seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original,” The Hunt will premiere in more than 200 countries as an Amazon global exclusive.
