The next time you find yourself at the foot of a fountain, penny in hand, ready to make a wish, we urge you to think about where that money is headed. As it turns out, it depends where you’re doing the wishing. Per The Atlantic, if you throw it in a public park, the money goes toward repairing the fountain.
