Out of 25 of America’s most popular burger chains, only Shake Shack and BurgerFi received A grades from a report dedicated to investigating antibiotic usage.
The collaborative, annual study, released Wednesday, revealed that of the remaining 23 restaurants, Wendy’s earned a D minus followed by 22 straight Fs.

The fast food joints that earned failing grades where their beef is concerned include some of the nation’s most popular. They include McDonald’s, Burger King, Sonic, Checkers, Five Guys, In-N-Out, and White Castle.
To determine the appropriate letter grade, the study looked at three factors: whether the company has made a pledge to move away from antibiotic use, how they’re implementing those policies, and if past claims they’ve made about their food are true.
Wendy’s only clawed its way out of the F pit because of a policy that the authors described as “while far from comprehensive … a positive step forward,” CNN reported.
