NBC’s Today has beaten Good Morning America in the ratings for the second straight week following NBC’s late November firing of Matt Lauer, according to Variety. Prior to Lauer’s exit, ABC’s Good Morning America had won the morning show ratings every week since mid-December 2016. The scandal surrounding Lauer, who has been replaced in the interim by Hoda Kotb, seems to have drawn new audiences to the show. Today is also beating Good Morning America in the crucial 25-54 age demographic, a category it regularly controls.
