Every year, the NFL draft proves to be a memorable experience. There was the time Eagles fans booed the selection of Donovan McNabb. Or the time the Chargers drafted Eli Manning and then traded him that night. ESPN took a look back at the biggest draft moments from each of the 32 teams.
New England Patriots: Selecting their first Super Bowl-winning QB in 1993. The Pats chose Drew Bledsoe first overall in 1993, ending their doormat status in the NFL.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Drafting four future Hall of Famers in 1974. The team landed four future Hall of Famers in one class — Lynn Swann, Jack Lambert, John Stallworth and Mike Webster in the first 125 picks.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Passing on Russell Wilson to draft punter Bryan Anger in 2012. No one knew Wilson would become one of the league’s best quarterbacks and lead Seattle to one title and two Super Bowl appearances, but that doesn’t matter to Jags fans.
Dallas Cowboys: Drafting their third Hall of Famer in as many years in 1990. In 1988 it was Michael Irvin, then Troy Aikman in 1989 and then Emmitt Smith in 1990.
New York Giants: Trading for quarterback Eli Manning in 2004. Manning was trying to get to the Giants, but he was selected No. 1 overall by the Chargers. The Giants selected Philip Rivers at No. 4 and a trade was made for Manning.
Philadelphia Eagles: Fans booing the selection of Donovan McNabb in 1990. A local radio station pushed for the Eagles to pick Ricky Williams with the No. 2 overall pick. So when Philly took McNabb instead, fans booed.
