Elon Musk Joins #DeleteFacebook Movement, Erasing Company’s Accounts

"Definitely. Looks lame anyway."

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has deleted his companies’ Facebook pages after news broke that Cambridge Analytica harvested the data of 50 million users from the platform to help Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. In a snarky exchange on Twitter over the #DeleteFacebook movement, which calls for users to deactivate their accounts on the social network, Musk publicly wrote that he didn’t realize his companies even had a presence on Facebook, let alone pages with millions of followers. Both were deleted by midday Friday, with Musk telling users the Tesla page “looks lame anyway.”

Musk has become one of the highest profile people to join the movement.
