President Trump has canceled plans for a Veteran’s Day military parade in November. He cited the “ridiculously high” price tag of the parade as a reason for shutting it down. On Twitter, the president accused local politicians of price-gouging, but The Associated Press reports that much of the projected $92 million price was attributed to Pentagon costs for aircraft, equipment and personnel.

On Thursday, the Defense Department announced there would be no parade in 2018. Trump said perhaps something could be scheduled for next year when the price “comes WAY DOWN,” but did not give any explanation on how the costs would be reduced.
