Abby Huntsman said all the right things about her decision to leave Fox & Friends Weekend for ABC’s The View in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Huntsman, who spent three years at Fox News, defended the her former news network in the aftermath of her departure.

Huntsman has worked for a number of disparately-aligned media outlets, from Fox News to The Huffington Post to MSNBC. When asked about leaving Fox News — she left during a period of internal crisis following the disgraced exits of Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly — Huntsman took the high road. “No one ever told the story about all the wonderful women that stayed, that were strong, and that kept it going, and kept it to where it is today,”Huntsman told THR. “We always focus on the negatives and what the controversy is.”

As for her new role as an opinion host on The View, Huntsman credited the format of the show for allowing free dialogue. “I left [Fox News] because ABC was where I started, and it was always my dream to get back there. And The View was a show I watched since it began,” Huntsman told The Hollywood Reporter.
