French architecture firm Studio KO has released designs for the upcoming Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakesh, dedicated to the designer and his work. The museum’s location speaks volumes; Saint Laurent had a lifelong love for Morocco, purchasing Majorelle Garden in 1980, with his partner Pierre Bergé. The 40,000-square-foot museum is set to open its doors next fall, and will house a portion of the Pierre Bergé–Yves Saint Laurent Foundation’s collection of fashion, accessories, designs, and objects. About 4,000 square feet of space will be dedicated to a permanent exhibition of Saint Laurent’s work; and the venue will also include a temporary exhibit space, an auditorium, a bookshop/boutique, research library, and café-restaurant. —Relaxnews
