Once again, U.K. publication the Mirror seems to have a spy on with good knowledge as far as James Bond news is concerned. As you might remember, it was their single-sourced report that all but confirmed the return of Daniel Craig as the title character—and even Adele to sing the theme. (It hasn’t been denied.)

Now, the gossip publication has moved onto Bond girl tryouts, and according to a “movie studio source,” one well-known model-actress is winning over Bond movie executives. “[Cara Delevingne] really is killing it at the moment. She had an amazing modeling early run, and her transition into acting has been astonishing,” says the unnamed source. “Her sizzling looks and ability to transform into many different characters on screen really gives her a unique edge. MGM mostly like to pick actresses just on the cusp of becoming big and helping that push.”

The person goes on to say: “Cara ticks many boxes. She appeals to a younger audience, has screen fighting experience and is English too. They also feel she could play a fierce spy working alongside the main protagonist, who of course can play both sides. This role would not be arm candy, but a kick ass strong character.”

It’s one thing to be a model and a Bond girl—Barbara Bach (The Spy Who Loved Me) and Maud Adams (The Man with the Golden Gun, Octopussy), come to mind—but to already have acting chops in a major summer movie (i.e. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets)? That’s a recipe for building the next Bond blockbuster.
