Angelina Jolie Breaks Silence on Life After Split from Brad Pitt

The famous actress opens up in a new profile for Vanity Fair.

Nearly a year after the shocking announcement that celebrities Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were splitting up, Josie is opening up for the first time in the new issue of Vanity Fair about her life after Brad and being a brave, single mom for her children.

Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, split from her father, Jon Voight, when Jolie was young. Voight reportedly cheated. Jolie told Vanity Fair that she was very worried about her mother after this, and she doesn’t want her children to go through the same thing.

“I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything’s going to be all right even when you’re not sure it is,” she said in the interview.

Jolie also divulges that her and Pitt’s globe-trotting lifestyle led to their split. She does not want anyone to think that their lifestyle was negative, though, saying that it was a wonderful opportunity they were able to give their children. But in the summer of 2016, she says “things got bad” but then she corrects herself, saying, things became “difficult.” Jolie also says that her kids have been “very brave” and that the whole family is healing “from the events that led to the filing.”

She and the children are now living in a $25 million estate once owned by Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille. Jolie sees the house as a big jump for the family. Jolie herself has reconciled with her long-estranged father, and is taking a break from work, which includes taking cooking classes (at the request of her children).

And maybe the most shocking piece of the interview? That last year she developed Bell’s Palsy, “a result of damage to facial nerves, causing one side of her face to droop.” She was able to hide her condition from paparazzi and says that acupuncture completely healed her. She has recovered and said that she is more in charge of her life and her health.
