In the cover story, she opens up to Janet Mock about the complexities of her role as as a wildly popular and outspoken actress, model and Instagram star.

Ratajkowski takes the spotlight seriously, speaking often about empowering women to love their bodies. For Ratajkowski to break into the patriarchal Hollywood system it was a constant battle of asserting herself.

“I had something prove, and it had very little to do with my acting ability or the way I looked. It was about the Take me seriously. Look me in the eye,” she told Marie Claire, regarding meetings with Hollywood producers.

Ratajkowski, who has a hefty 17.3 million Instagram followers, continues to climb higher and higher, as she’s currently starring in I Feel Pretty alongside Amy Schumer.
