Clues have surfaced in the disappearance of HBO’s True Detective.
Two years after the second season of the once-acclaimed crime drama landed largely DOA, creator Nic Pizzolatto has written at least two episodes for the next anthology season, Entertainment Weekly is reporting.
And he’s hired former NYPD Blue and Deadwood writer/producer David Milch as an accomplice, according to the report.
The creepy noir series started out strong in 2014, with stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson winning raves and the show winning five Emmys for its inaugural season. But a followup, headlined by Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams, the following year was largely shot down by critics and viewers alike.
HBO has yet to announce an official greenlight for a third season.
