Never one to miss out on the fun, Stephen Colbert inserted himself into James Comey’s testimony on Thursday night’s The Late Show—even bringing along some popcorn.

Colbert started by interrupting committee chairman Richard Burr so he could introduce himself.

“Stephen Colbert. I’d like to thank my colleagues for allowing me to be in here. And I do call you my colleagues even though I’m not a senator and I’m here only because I won a radio call-in contest.”

He then proceeded to ask the former FBI director if there was any proof that President Donald Trump “colluded with Russia.”

Comey responded that that he couldn’t answer in “an open setting,” so Colbert suggests they build a pillow fort. He then decides to rephrase.

“Can you give me a hint? How about I ask a question in a different way? How about if you had an orange cat, really fat, lies a lot. Would the cat enjoy drinking vodka?” he asked.

Eventually, the late night show host gives in, saying,“So I will make this easy for you. You don’t even have to respond with words. Just signal to me in any way. Did Donald Trump collude with the Russians?”

He takes Comey’s nose scratch as a yes.
