Haven’t heard the name Valerie Plame in awhile? Get ready to be reintroduced.

Now using her married name, Valerie Plame Wilson, the former CIA operative—whose identity was famously outed to conservative columnist Robert Novak by President George W. Bush’s then Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage—is waging a digital war against current president Donald Trump.

In the wake of the Charlottesville protest and Trump’s misguided response, Plame tweeted that she’d launched a GoFundMe page to buy the social platform Twitter to oust the president from it.

On the page, Plame Wilson writes: “Donald Trump has done a lot of horrible things on Twitter. From emboldening white supremacists to promoting violence against journalists, his tweets damage the country and put people in harm’s way. But threatening actual nuclear war with North Korea takes it to a dangerous new level.”

Actor and former member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities wrote this tongue-and-cheek tweet on Aug. 11 about the threat.

Continues Plame Wilson: “It’s time to shut [Trump] down. The bad news is Twitter has ignored growing calls to enforce their own community standards and delete Trump’s account. The good news is we can make that decision for them.”

Regarding the GoFundMe page, her idea is to crowdfund the purchase of enough Twitter stocks to own a majority stake in the company. Per Forbes, the company’s market value is about $15.7 billion. At press time, the page has raised just $14,520, with a goal of $1 billion.

As is noted on the page, if for any reason, the total is too small to purchase Twitter, 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Global Zero, a nonprofit organization looking to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
