Boston Dynamics Robot Handle Has Better Vertical Leap Than LeBron James

March 1, 2017 10:21 am

We all knew robots were coming to take our jobs, but we didn’t think NBA players needed to worry. Enter Boston Dynamics’ Handle.

Handle is a research robot that stands 6’6″ ft and jumps a ridiculous 48″. To put this in perspective, King James has a vertical leap of just over 40″, which is exceptional for the NBA (and humanity in general). Handle uses electric power to operate both electric and hydraulic actuators, with a range of about 15 miles on one charge. Handle even reaches a more than respectable speed of up to nine mph.

Watch this unnervingly agile robot in the video below and imagine the power forward of the future.
