This summer isn’t even over yet, but NBA teams are already trying to position themselves to woo their top free agent targets next summer.

Case in point: the Los Angeles Clippers firing announcer Bruce Bowen for criticizing Kawhi Leonard … who currently plays for the Toronto Raptors.

However, Leonard is a member of a potential free agent class that also may include stars like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, and Jimmy Butler, hence the Clippers sucking up to the forward in an attempt to induce him to come to LA.

Clippers fans may not want to invest in Leonard jerseys just yet. ESPN’s Forecast panel gives the team just a 15.1 percent chance of landing the soon-to-be free agent. The panel feels Leonard is actually more likely to go to the Lakers (57.6 percent) or stay in Toronto (27.3).

The panel also offered their opinion on where Durant, Irving, Thompson, and Butler will be once the dust clears following free agency.

According to the panel, Durant and Thompson are most likely to remain with the Warriors in Golden State and Butler and Irving could wind up together playing for the Knicks in New York.
