Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch sat down with former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to talk about his new role as CBS News’ lead NFL game analyst. Romo started last April and exceeded all expectations, and Sports Illustrated named him the 2017 Sports Illustrated Media Person Of The Year in this space, saying that Romo had an impact on the country’s most-watched sport. His understanding and knowledge of the game made him an invaluable resource, SI says, and he specifically helped explain the formations and fronts of teams and how an offense attacks a defense. You could clearly hear his love and enthusiasm for the sport during his broadcast. And the best thing, according to SI? He will only get better.
