On Thursday night, the Patriots and Eagles faced off for the first time since Philadelphia defeated New England 41-33 in the Super Bowl in February.
This time the Patriots came out on top 37-20—not that it matters.
What does matter is that Tom Brady, the same Tom Brady who just turned 41 and missed New England’s first preseason game with a sore back, was back on the field and looked as good as ever during the win.
But he wasn’t the only star to return to the field to start Week 2 of the NFL preseason, as Aaron Rodgers, Nick Foles, and plenty of other notable names also hit the gridiron.
Let’s take a look at some highlights.
Tom Brady
19/26, 172 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers
This might be a problem for defenses.

Nick Foles
The Great Nick Foles labored to complete 3-of-9 pass attempts in his first preseason action of the year, then left the game after this injury. Carson Wentz is 8 months removed from ACL surgery. Eagles fans should be concerned about the QB position… pic.twitter.com/EQyGnsfUrt

Alex Smith
Alex Smith had a fairly simple outing for the #Redskins, but I thought this was a nice play. 3rd & 8, has Davis on a shallow cross with Doctson running a basic behind it to create a high-low. Smith calmly avoids a rusher and hits Doctson for a 1st down. pic.twitter.com/RNwEfeEZTz
