Full of mullets, mustaches, and plenty of fresh lettuce, the annual “All Hockey Hair Team” video Game On! Minnesota releases each year in honor of the statewide hockey tournament is a championship in itself.
Compiled by Minnesotan John King every year since 2011, the yearly clips feature ‘dos ranging from The Lion’s Mane and The Inboard Motor to The Titanic and The Twin Tributaries.
Though they may not win the tourney, Duluth East took home the title of the top All Hockey-Hair Team in 2019 and were named Best in Flow.
Sadly, this will be the last year the players will make the cut for the All Hockey Hair Team as Game On! Minnesota is discontinuing the squad.
They are hopeful the final edition will help spark donations to the Hendrickson Foundation, a group that supports sled, special, and military hockey throughout the state of Minnesota.
“Since this is the final All Hockey Hair Team, we’re hoping to go out with a bang raising a bunch of money for the Hendrickson Foundation,” according to a post from the foundation. “So, if you have ever laughed once watching one of these goofy videos the past ten years—please consider donating $1, or whatever you’re comfortable with. Every little bit helps. And maybe, just maybe, together we can prove ‘Hockey hair changes lives’ too!”
