Roethlisberger Has Perfect Passer Rating as Steelers Declaw Panthers in Primetime

Pittsburgh was able to remove their star QB early in their dominant 52-21 win.

During last night’s game against the Carolina Panthers, Ben Roethlisberger’s bookended his night with a pair of touchdown passes.

In between those two tosses, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback threw a trio of scores. On the night, Roethlisberger completed 22 of 25 passes for 328 yards and posted a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.

Hyped as a matchup between two teams with Super Bowl aspirations, Pittsburgh was dominant after falling behind 7-0 and won by a lopsided 52-21 margin.

“This is what we expected,” Roethlisberger said. “We knew we were going to have to put up a lot of points. We did that. The defense, they were playing like their hair was on fire.”

Big Ben was able to accomplish all that despite taking a dirty hit from defensive back Eric Reid, who was subsequently ejected.

Pittsburgh was able to explode on offense despite still being without Le’Veon Bell. Backup James Conner filled in admirably yet again with 65 rushing yards and a touchdown before leaving with a concussion.

Bell could be back next week, but there is still much to be determined.

With the win, the Steelers improved to 6-2-1 while the Panthers fell to 6-3.
