There’s no crying in baseball – or football.

At least that’s the takeaway from a story in The Athletic detailing the “fractured relationship” that Derek Carr has with his teammates on the Oakland Raiders after they saw film of him tearing up on the field.

According to to the piece, Carr’s teammates have lost confidence in him after seeing game film of “him crying after being sacked and injuring his arm” during their most recent game against the Seahawks in London.

“They saw his face,” the story says. “They heard his whimper. They witnessed him explain on the sidelines. They assuredly watched it again in film session. It’s hard to see how Carr can lead this team again.”

There’s visual evidence as well.

Regardless of how Carr’s teammates feel, he has played hurt (albeit it not well).

Either way, Carr will likely be headed out of Oakland anyway as the team continues to clear high-priced salaries after mortgaging this season by trading away Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper.
