With NBA training camps set to open up in a number of days, All-Star forward Jimmy Butler is trying to force his way out of Minnesota and has requested a trade from the Timberwolves.

According to Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Butler has given the T-Wolves a list of one-to-three teams with which he would sign a contract extension.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports those three teams are the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, and New York Knicks. All three have enough cap space to sign Butler to a maximum deal when he becomes a free agent in July.

T-Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau has been resistant to the idea of trading Butler but is running out of options with the team’s training camp set to start on Tuesday.

Thibodeau had been planning to meet with Butler in Minnesota about the situation but instead traveled to LA to see him earlier this week.

Apparently, the meeting did not go well.
