When speed-obsessed coach Chip Kelly arrived in Philadelphia fresh off his days running a high-octane offense at Oregon, he essentially had a Dream Team of fast players including Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy, and DeSean Jackson.

But, instead of just installing the speedsters into roles as starters, Kelly made them compete for their positions against practice squad players.

While it was rough on McCoy and Jackson, Vick had a particular problem with having to try to win the No. 1 quarterback spot during a QB competition with – at the time – career backup Nick Foles and felt betrayed by Kelly.

During an appearance with Jackson on Bleacher Report’s “Simms & Lefkoe Podcast,” Vick revealed that Kelly forcing him to compete with Foles actually brought him to tears.

“True story: That year, I’m laying in my hyperbaric chamber before a preseason game – I never told y’all this,” Vick said on the podcast. “I’m battling Nick Foles for a starting position. Now, I’ve been a starter for 12 years of my career. Now I’m in a battle, which I’m clearly winning. Nothing against Nick. Nothing but respect for him. We love him to death. I’m sitting in my hyperbaric chamber with tears coming out my eyes, crying, because I’m like I did everything I could for Chip Kelly.”
