LaVar says Lonzo will leave L.A. when his contract is up unless the team brings in his brothers.

LaVar Ball announced Monday that if the Lakers do not bring all three Ball brother to Los Angeles, Lonzo will walk when his contract expires. As has become standard of LaVar’s provocations, whether or not Lonzo Ball agrees is unclear, according to the Washington Post. His two brothers, LiAngelo, formerly of UCLA, and LaMelo, formerly of Chino Hills High School, are currently playing on a professional team in Lithuania. Though LaMelo very well could be drafted in 2020, LiAngelo is not forecasted to sign with an NBA team, making LaVar’s demands particularly unfeasible. LaVar’s latest comments come at a time of transition for the Lakers, as the team just acquired a point guard to split time with Lonzo in Isaiah Thomas, and cleared some of the cap space necessary to chase LeBron James, Paul George, and others this summer.
