They no longer play on turf, but the Rams’ offense may once again be the greatest show in the NFL thanks in large part to its ringmaster, Jared Goff.
The 23-year-old quarterback put on a show last night on Thursday Night Football, torching a Minnesota Vikings that was thought to be fairly stout to the tune of 465 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions.
Completing 26 of 43 throws, Goff ended Thursday’s 38-31 win over the Vikings with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.

Throughout the game, the LA offense rotated formations, route concepts, shifts and motions to keep the defense on its toes and Goff was able to make nearly every throw which was required of him.
Spreading his quintet of touchdowns to four different pass-catchers (Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp), Goff looked like a grizzled veteran instead of a third-year pro.
“You know, kind of taking a little bit of a chance there and got away with it, but that’s what happens when you’ve got good players,” Goff said afterward. “I trust Cooper [Kupp] and he ran right through it. Wasn’t sure if he was in bounds or not, but he made a good catch on it. I think that just shows kind of my trust in him.”
Now leading the NFL’s best team at 4-0 and showing no signs of slowing down, Goff is certainly in the early-season running for MVP.Read the full story at Sports Illustrated
