At a Formula 3 Grand Prix race in Macau, an unreal crash by 17-year-old German driver Sophia Floersch shocked fans and marred the event—and quickly went viral.

As a number of cars approached a 90-degree turn next to a grandstand, video shows Floersch’s car suddenly rocketing across the inside of the turn and briefly impacting another car—driven by Japanese driver Sho Tsuboi—while flying through air. The speed of Floersch’s car allowed it to gain enough height to soar up and into the protective barrier around the race course.

Fortunately, Floersch survived the crash, but, in a later update on Twitter, her racing team released a medical report that said she would be having surgery to repair a fractured spine. Two photographers and a race marshal were also injured in the crash, but none of them sustained serious injuries.
