Tennis player Alize Cornet exposed a double standard by taking off her shirt at the U.S. Open.
During a match against Johanna Larsson, the 28-year-old French player changed what she was wearing during an official heat break and came back on the court with her shirt on backward.
Realizing the mistake, she stepped into the shadows at the back of the court and removed her shirt so she could flip it. By doing that, Cornet’s red-and-black sports bra was briefly exposed.

After her shirt was back in place correctly, umpire Christian Rask issued her a code violation.
Tennis fans were quick to point out that if a male player had done the same thing – removed his shirt while on the court – a penalty would not have been issued under the rules of the WTA.
Alize Cornet came back to court after 10 minute heat break. Had her fresh shirt on back to front. Changed at back of court. Got a code violation. Unsportsmanlike conduct….. 😳
But the men can change shirts on court. https://t.co/sCN4KDXYTb

Busted for code violation 🙄 #alizecornet took 10 sec to turn top right way but #novacdjokovic can sit for minutes half-naked. Same comp. Days after @serenawilliams slammed for disrespecting tennis because she wore a #catsuit. Not fair. Not right. Tell your daughters 🙌 pic.twitter.com/pJILnwvUvG

Alize Cornet given a code violation for briefly removing her top because it was on backwards (wearing a sports bra underneath, no less).
Sure! Great! Logical! Fair! pic.twitter.com/IyL4ZGS3UA
