ESPN Developing ‘Pardon My Take’ Podcast Into Late-Night TV Show

Barstool Sports podcast, hosted by Dan 'Big Cat' Katz and PFT Commenter, was launched in 2016.

For ESPN, one popular sports podcast will soon be eclipsing your earbuds.

According to The Ringer, the cable sports network is looking to develop the popular Barstool Sports podcast, Pardon My Take, into its own TV show. The show is co-hosted by Dan “Big Cat” Katz and an NFL journalist who goes by the nom de plume, PFT Commenter. It’s apparently going to be on the network’s slate of late-night programming.

Per The Ringer, the deal hasn’t even been finalized yet, but would reportedly air on ESPN2. The podcast reportedly garners as many as two million listeners per episode.

Ironically, when the podcast was first launched in 2016, it was meant to sort of thumb its nose at ESPN’s own talk show brands—see: First Take and Pardon the Interruption—and the sports net even, at one point, threatened legal action. This could bring it full circle.
