Organizers of next summer’s International Champions Cup, which typically features a majority of its games in the U.S., will likely have Juventus play its games in the Asian version of the annual event.

Juventus will likely play its games in China and Singapore and be joined by the Premier League teams Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

A spokesman for Juventus said “going east” to Asia was normal after spending recent preseasons in America, according to The New York Times.

The Italian champions are set to feature in the ICC but will play in the Asian edition of the competition due to Ronaldo being under investigation for rape in Las Vegas.

Panja reported the organizers do not wish to risk the Portuguese being detained if he flies into the country with his team.

In August, Kathryn Mayorga filed a civil complaint against Cristiano Ronaldo in regard to an alleged rape that took place in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.

Following the complaint – which alleged the soccer star was able to convince Mayorga to sign a nondisclosure agreement in exchange for $375,000 in 2010 – Las Vegas police reopened a sexual assault investigation into Ronaldo.

Since then, there’s been no indication when, or if, police are going to file criminal charges against the 33-year-old star. He has denied all charges.
