After months of back-and-forth, Colin Kaepernick and the National Football League have resolved the former quarterback’s collusion grievance against the league.

Kaepernick’s former San Francisco 49ers teammate, Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid, also reached a settlement in his collusion case.

The resolutions were announced in a joint statement from attorney Mark Geragos and the NFL.

“For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL,” according to the statement issued Friday. “As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party.”

Confirming the resolution, Kaepernick and Reid both tweeted out an image of the statement from their Twitter accounts.

And, though nothing has been confirmed, the rumor is that the settlement about Kaepernick will be receiving is very, very lucrative.

In the original filing which was submitted last fall, Kaepernick’s lawyer argued NFL owners “colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States.”
