Drones come in all shapes and sizes, but no drone sold in stores is big enough to carry a human. Casey Neistat, a viral filmmaker with an affinity for high-tech gadgets, took it upon himself to make one big enough to fly him around.
Neistat’s human-carrying drone, which took a year to build, wound up with a payload on par with 350 DJI Phantom 4’s, one of the best drones on the market. The mega-drone’s wingspan was 10-feet wide and weighed in at 165 pounds (most of which was due to its 16 batteries). Powered by 16 propellers, the drone took flight, with Neistat in tow, in Finland.
