Boston and Los Angeles appear to be on a collision course to compete for a championship for the first time since the Lakers beat the Celtics in the 2010 NBA Finals.

The Dodgers dispatched the Brewers 5-2 on Wednesday for a 3-2 lead in the NL Championship Series behind a stellar effort from ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw let up one run and three hits over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked two, and didn’t allow a baserunner after the third inning.

Needing one win to advance to the World Series, the Dodgers will look to close out the series during Game 6 on Friday night in Milwaukee.

The Red Sox also only need one more win to make the World Series after they knocked off the Astros in Houston to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.

Though their 8-6 win on Wednesday night was not without controversy, the Red Sox were able to eke out the victory thanks to heroics from their “Killer Bs” outfield of Jackie Bradley, Mookie Betts, and Andrew Benintendi.

Bradley hit a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning, Betts made a rocket throw from right in the eighth inning, and Benintendi made a game-saving catch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win.

The Sox are now one victory away from their first World Series trip since winning the 2013 title.
